   DAY 1

​

      Romania’s Transfagarasan Highway is one of the most celebrated roads in Europe. Open for just a few months each year, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors from across the world.

It offers a unique driving experience through scenery of unsurpassed, almost unreal, beauty. The scenic route reached its height of popularity in 2009 when the British TV show Top Gear proclaimed that the Transfagarasan is the best road in the world.

On the Transfagarasan road you can visit:

• The monastery of Curtea de Arges.

• Poienari – The real Dracula castle. Cetatea Poienari was built in the 13th century and rebuilt by the Vlad III Tepes – the Impaler.

• Vidraru Dam and The statue of Prometheus above Vidraru.

• Capra waterfall on the Transfagarasan road.

• Balea Glacier Lake - The highest point of the Transfagarasan highway.

• Sibiu

  DAY 2

​

     The Transalpina is the highest paved road in Romania and is one of the most exhilarating roads to drive on in Europe.

It’s a 148 km long road that reaches 2145 meters altitude at its highest point. You can drive above the clouds on this road.

To enter the road, coming from Transylvania you need to go west from Sibiu to Sebes and then on Transalpina, through Parang mountain, towards Novaci.​

On the Transalpina road you can visit:

• Marginimea Sibiului Villages;

• Lake Oasa;

• Cindrel Natural Park;

• Lake Vidra;

• Voineasa ski area;

• Horezu Monastery (UNESCO) & pottery center.
