    Romania is home to no less than nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, seven of which are cultural sites and two are natural. The World Heritage Sites offer insight into the history, artistic wealth, and traditions of Romania.

Our tour includes:

1. Horezu Monastery - contains elegant sculptures and decorative details, along with a large number of hand-painted portraits and other embellishments.

2. Historic Centre of Sighișoara - the city's center – the citadel – keeps its medieval air with its old and distinctive architecture.

3. Dacian Fortresses of the Orastie Mountains - the six Dacian Fortresses of the Orastie Mountains, were created in the 1st centuries BC and AD as protection against Roman conquest and played an important role during the Roman-Dacian wars.

4. Villages with Fortified Churches in Transylvania - Biertan, Calnic, Darju, Prejmer, Saschiz, Valea Viilor, and Viscri, all of them being located in southern Transylvania.

5. Rosia Montana Mining Landscape - This town boasts one of the oldest mine galleries in the world. There are almost seven kilometers of mine galleries and many tools used by the miners.

6. Wooden Churches of Maramures - are eight UNESCO churches: Surdesti,Rogoz,Poienile Izei,Plopis,Ieud,Plopesti,Dudesti,Barsana

of a range of architectural solutions from different periods and areas. 

7. Churches of Moldavia - The Painted Churches of Bucovina

There are eight painted convents listed as UNESCO sites: Arbore, Humor, Moldovita, Patrauti, Probota, Saint George of Suceava, Voronet and Sucevita.
